Collaboration with Uni Konstanz

Strengthen collaboration with the University of Konstanz is important to take use of their expertise in environmental research, education, and practical application. This relationship provides technical guidance, resource exchange, and coordinated academic activities.

Feasibility study for KEERC

The German Federal Environment Agency is supporting the University of Konstanz and the KEERC Association with a two-year project to explore the conditions and options for establishing an environmental centre in Kosovo. The project includes (a) a feasibility study, (b) public relations and networking, and (c) experience gained through practical activities (especially teaching projects). The project is limited to the period from 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2025.

Field station

Together with the KEERC Association, the University of Konstanz has set up a field station at the Innovation and Training Park (ITP) in Prizren, where summer schools and courses for school classes, student groups and other groups are held. It is also possible for experts in biodiversity and ecology to use the field station as a base camp for studies. The 100 square metre station includes a lab which is equipped with stereo-microscopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, and other equipment for ecological field studies like nets and traps. It also provides literature and a nature collection with illustrative material (e.g. skulls, preserved fish and reptiles, bird and mammal specimens, collections of insects, mollusks) which are available for visitors.
