International Biodiversity Day
KEERC, in collaboration with MESPI, celebrated International Biodiversity Day on May 22 through educational activities at its Prizren field station, bringing together students, experts, and guests to promote biodiversity awareness under the “Be Part of the Plan” theme, emphasizing the importance of conservation efforts at all levels.

World Water Day and World Meteorological Day
On March 22, 2024, World Water Day and World Meteorological Day were celebrated at the Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo with second-grade students from “Mihal Grameno” Primary School in Fushë Kosovë. The students learned about the importance of water and the country’s water resources, while also discussing climate change. As part of the event, Europe House Kosovo distributed the Protectors of the Planet book series to encourage environmental awareness among the students.

Training with NP Rengers
A workshop at the KEERC field station in Prizren with nature rangers from the “Sharri” and “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” National Parks focused on nature protection, biodiversity, and tourism. Rangers learned about GIS tools and participated in a practical session in Prevalla, focusing on species monitoring and the impact of fires on extinction. The event was organized with the University of Konstanz, KEERC, and AMMK.
