Establishment of the Environmental Center in Junik – Information Meeting on August 2, 2017

It has only been 4 years since the inception of a development plan idea and the contribution made by the University of Konstanz towards the creation of the Environmental Center in Junik. Up until now, the main partner involved in this project has been the University of Prishtina and AMMK. During these three years of collaboration, through the Summer Schools organized by these two universities in Junik, we have gathered a wealth of data on existing fauna and flora, some of which have only been prepared, and we have created a database where all of this is documented. This activity conducted in Junik aims to present Kosovo with a unique and permanent exhibition on the history of nature because this Environmental Center will be open to all. Such a centre also aims, among other things, to serve Research for Education. A special classroom will be dedicated solely to students, providing them with the opportunity to use professional tools to study closely everything collected from the biodiversity in Kosovo. Additionally, this centre will attract visitors to the “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” region and will have a parallel social impact. The Mayor of the Municipality of Junik has supported us so far and has committed to continue supporting us in this project. On August 2nd at 10:30 AM, at the Municipal Assembly Hall, all residents of Junik and other interested parties will have the opportunity to learn more about this project. Representatives from the University of Konstanz and the University of Prishtina, along with the Mayor of the Municipality, will be present not only to present the project but also to answer citizens’ questions.
